Tips on Buttonholes

Sewing the Buttonholes:

If you are using your built in buttonhole guide to sew buttonholes, first mark them clearly, then count the stitches when you sew the first one. That way your buttonholes will all be the same length.

Cutting the Buttonholes:

When you are ready to cut the buttonholes, you can avoid mishaps by putting a straight pin across one end, then cut toward the pin with your seam ripper. The pin will stop the seam ripper from cutting beyond the end.
