Question:When sewing pants, the inseam always pulls up. What am I doing wrong and what can I do to correct the ones I have already made?
- Answer:
- It could be several things causing the inseam to pull up like that.
This is usually caused if your knees curve in slightly, which may or may not be the case here.
-
- Most likely, you need to alter your patterns by adding length to the inseam. The easiest way to accomplish this is to measure how much it 'pulls up' and add that amount to the inseam, it could be 1/2" or less (sketch 1).
-
- Then draw a new hemline from the outseam to the new inseam (Sketch 2).
