Step 1: Cut a 1"wide strip of fabric along the grainline, at least 2" longer than the finished strap length. (If you have enough fabric to cut 2 lengths at once, it will save you time).
Step 2: Cut a length of string or piping cord two times the length of the straps.
Step 3: With right sides together, and the string or piping cord sandwiched in between, sew the straps with 1/4"seam allowance. Be sure your don't catch the string in the stitching. Back tack along the end with the remaining string sticking out.
Step 4: On the open end, pull the string to turn the straps right side out. The straps will have the cording inside to stabilize the straps.
Step 5: Cut the straps to length, and attach to your garment as usual.
