TIP # 1: If a zipper separates behind the slider and the teeth, coils, and stitching are not damaged, only the slider needs replacing, not the entire zipper. TIP # 2: Plastic zippers are easier to zip than metal zippers, and they are less likely to break. Plastic zippers won't freeze cold climates either. TIP # 3: Coil zippers are stronger than tooth zippers, regardless of the size. Tip # 4: A large zipper isn't really stronger than a smaller zipper, but large zippers are easier to clean. Tip # 5: Zippers last longer when they are kept clean. A light coating of bee's wax or paraffin on the teeth will help. Tip #6: Dirt or grit in the zipper will damage it. |
